1. How old do I have to be to participate in a residential programme?

The minimum age for the Junior programme is 13. But we organize also School Programmes for primary schools (from 8 to 12 years old). A maximum age... doesn't exist.

2. What level of Spanish must I have to take part in the Standard Programme?

We organise programmes for all levels. However, to really take advantage of your stay, it's best to have, at least, an elemental level of Spanish (A2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

3. What do the residential programmes involve?

They are language and cultural programmes, where you'll live with Spanish-speaking participants, as well as teachers specialized in the teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language (S/FL). 4. I have completed a Spanish course. Would it be useful for me to attend a residential programme with Español in Situ?

It would be ideal. Our residential programmes are the ideal option to complete your learning and to put your knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom into practice. Our programmes put the edge on the teaching of Spanish and compliments existing programmes.

5. Who are the programmes aimed at?

The residential programmes are aimed at those who learn Spanish and want to improve their communicative ability, in addition to those who have a higher level and want to take advantage of their holidays to bring their knowledge up to speed.

6. What differences am I going to find between your residential programmes and others?

Español in Situ offers language and cultural immersion programmes with native Spanish speakers. If you already know some Spanish and need to practice it and gain confidence in real situations, Español in Situ is the perfect place to do this.

7. In addition to practicing and improving my Spanish, what other advantages do the residential programmes offer me?

They are the perfect option for you to disconnect from daily routine and to enjoy a spectacular cultural setting. You can enjoy new experiences with people from many different countries, whilst perfecting your Spanish. Weekly schedule

8. What's the accommodation of residential programmes like?

There are different accommodation options, depending on the programme you choose: private apartment, hotels, youth hostels, etc. Because of the group dynamics, it is advisable that all the students stay in the same place. Sites

9. Who are the Spanish-speaking guests?

They are Spanish speaking volunteers, who want to share with you their language and culture. For a week you will speak with them just like one more Spanish-speaker. A true intercultural discovery, which will give you the opportunity to listen to different accents, as well as to exchange opinions and have conversations of all types.

10. In addition to the guests, will a teacher support me?

Yes. Throughout the whole programme you will be accompanied by teachers with a wealth of international experience in the teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language (E/LE). They will assess and evaluate your daily progress.

11. So, will I have Spanish classes?

If you wish so, we can provide your immersion programme with a daily language session, where you can raise any languages-related doubts you may have: vocabulary, verb forms, use of prepositions..., and work on functional and socio-cultural aspects of the language.

12. We are a group with particular needs. Could we have our own residential programme?

Yes, you can ask for a programme adapted to the needs of a specific group: family, friends, businesses, institutions, etc. Tell us your needs and we will design a programme tailored to your interests: holiday, economics and business, gastronomy, flamenco, etc. Tailored Programmes

13. Upon completing the programme, is there any kind of evaluation?

Evaluation will be continual and carried out by the teachers. They will monitor the activities and exercises given. Moreover, when the programme has come to a close, each participant will receive a personalized report and will do a self-evaluation.

14. How can I book my place?

To book your place, you should send an email to coordinacion@spanishinsitu.com or fill out and send the contact form. You will receive an email with confirmation of the booking and instructions. Contact form

15. When and how can I pay?

30% is paid upon making the reservation by bank transfer. The remaining 70% should be paid one week before the start date, also by bank transfer.

16. Are there any discounts?

We offer and special discounts in School Programmes for groups of 20 or more students.

17. Is there a deadline to register?

The registration deadline is 30 days before the beginning of each programme. Once this date has passed, ask if there are any places left.

18. What happens if once I have made the reservation, I can't attend because of circumstances beyond my control?

In this case, you have two options: you could either change the programme to another date or ask for a refund of the booking. 100% refund for cancellation notices received in writing at least 15 days prior to start date. 70% refund for cancellations received at least 7 days prior to start date. 50% refund for cancellations received upon starting date (or 2-3 days prior), or after starting date.

19. What is included in the price of the programme?

Transport by private bus between the meeting city and the hotel, half or full board accommodation (see programme menu), excursions and cultural visits with Spanish speakers, workshops, outdoor activities, learning material and certificate.

20. How do I join the programme?

Two weeks before the beginning of the programme, we will send you an email with all the necessary information: Start date and time when the programme will begin, meeting point, hotel address and a detailed schedule of the week.

21. I arrive at the meeting city a day before the start of the programme. Where can I stay that night?

Español in Situ will provide you with the address and telephone number of various hotels close to the meeting point where you can reserve a room. We will also provide you with useful information about the city and the various ways of getting from the airport to the city centre.

22. What happens if Español in Situ cancels my programme?

Español in Situ reserves the right to cancel programmes which do not reach the minimum number of participants required. In this case, you will be informed of the cancelation a month in advance and you will be able to choose between a refund on your reservation or a change of programme date.
